Papal Visit to Iqaluit Confirmed – July 29, 2022

The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will be visiting Iqaluit on July 29, 2022, as part of the six-day “Walking Together” visit to Canada.

Below is the schedule of events for the Iqaluit visit:

• 3:50 PM – Pope Francis arrives at the Iqaluit airport
• 4:15 PM – Pope Francis holds a private meeting with residential school survivors
• 5:00 PM – Pope Francis attends outdoor event, open to the public, at Nakasuk Elementary School
• 6:15 PM – Departure ceremony at the Iqaluit airport
• 6:45 PM – Pope Francs departs from Iqaluit
