Ottawa, 9 May 2025—The Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Jerry V. DeMarco,will be in Yellowknife on behalf of the Auditor General of Canada to present the report of her office’s audit on protected and conserved areas in the Northwest Territories to the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly on Friday, 23 May 2025.

Access to electronic embargoed report

At 10:00 am Mountain Time (MT)

Journalists accredited by a recognized media organization who wish to receive an embargoed copy of the report must register by emailing infomedia@oag-bvg.gc.ca before 4:30 pm MT on 22 May 2025. Embargoed e‑copies will be provided at 10:00 am MT on 23 May 2025. Please note that the embargoed report is available only electronically.

The report will be available on the Office of the Auditor General of Canada website once it has been tabled by the Speaker of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly at approximately 11:30 am MT.

Jerry V. DeMarco, the Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, will hold a news conference at the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly, in the Eagle Room, located at 4570‑48th Street in Yellowknife.
