2025 Nunavut Quest Begins Tomorrow

Iqaluit, Nunavut – April 14, 2024 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is excited for the 2025 Nunavut Quest. The race starts tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15 in Pond Inlet. Eight mushers will make the estimated one-week trek from Pond Inlet to Igloolik.

QIA supports Nunavut Quest through its $100, 000 allotment from the Qikiqtani Truth Commission funding, dedicated to the Qimuksiqtiit Revitalization efforts.

This year’s prizes are as follows:
1st Place – $20,000

2nd Place – $15,000

3rd Place – $10,000

4th Place – $5,000

5th Place – $2,500

6th – 8th Place – $2,000

The remainder of the QTC allotment for this year went towards community celebrations, gas for support teams, food for the camps and food for the dogs.

Live tracking updates will be available on the QIA website.  Award ceremonies will take place once all of the mushers have arrived in Igloolik and times have been calculated.
