NTI: Nunavut Day Celebrations

(July 7, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) will celebrate Nunavut Day 2022 with many activities. This year’s events will see some outdoor gatherings and online virtual activities.

NTI virtual online contests:

Back by popular demand! The Home Cook Challenge, an online cooking contest for kids and adults. Contestants make their favourite recipe, take a photo and send it in. Contest closed July 3rd. NTI received over 80 recipes; winners will be announced on July 9th.
House, Boat and Shed Decorating Contest – House, Boats and Sheds are eligible to enter in this competition, NTI understands housing situation vary in every community. Show your Nunavut pride for the world to see! Deadline to enter is July 9, 2022. Winners will be announced on July 12, 2022

NTI outdoor gatherings:

In Iqaluit: LIVE Concert, BBQ and Door Prizes at the Igluvut Parking Lot, 1:00-4:00pm.
In Rankin Inlet: BBQ, LIVE Entertainment, Elders Tea and Bannock Making, Games and Door Prizes near Singiituq Complex. 1:00-4:00pm
In Cambridge Bay: BBQ and Door prizes for Kids and Adults, at the Municipal Heritage Park. 1:00-4:00pm

NTI is working with hamlets and hunters and trappers organizations for communities to organize their own Nunavut Day events. All hamlets in Nunavut receive funding for Nunavut Day celebrations using a formula based on population.
