Statement from Premier Pillai on visit from UK Consul General Thomas Codrington

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting with United Kingdom Consul General Thomas Codrington as part of his visit to the Yukon.

“During our conversation, I highlighted key priority areas for the Government of Yukon, including infrastructure to support our mining sector, clean and secure energy, and our commitment to working in partnership with Yukon First Nations.

“These initiatives align with key priorities of the United Kingdom such as critical minerals, trade, clean technology, science and innovation. Additionally, our discussion on cultural diplomacy, education initiatives, and critical minerals reflected our shared values of reconciliation and environmental stewardship.

“This ongoing engagement is not only essential for fostering positive relations but also for driving sustainable development and addressing global challenges collaboratively.”
