People ages 16 to 21 encouraged to develop leadership skills through sport, community engagement

Young people who want to learn about leadership can apply to the Nunavut Youth Ambassador Program for the 2022-23 season.

The Government of Nunavut is recruiting Nunavummiut between the ages of 16 and 21 to develop leadership skills through sport, recreation programs, training and volunteer opportunities, said spokesperson Suleikha Duale in a news release.

Participants will get the chance to volunteer within their home communities, in the territory and across the country.

They’ll have the chance to “build leadership and life skills through training and volunteering, become more engaged with their community through volunteer efforts, attend in-person training sessions and have the opportunity to volunteer at special events,” Duale said in the release.
