Mental Health Act consultations

The Government of Nunavut is reviewing the Mental Health Act and we want your input.
Community members, families and mental health clients can participate in community consultations to provide input to update Nunavut’s Mental Health Act.
Public consultations will ensure that amendments to the Mental Health Act represent Inuit culture and knowledge, and reflect the unique conditions of addressing mental illness in Nunavut.
Upcoming public meetings will be held in:
- Kimmirut on November 2 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Pangnirtung on November 3 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Clyde River on November 4 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Pond Inlet on November 5 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Igloolik on November 6 at 6 p.m., at the new community hall
- Rankin Inlet on November 9 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Arviat on November 10 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Baker Lake on November 12 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Kugluktuk on November 16 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Cambridge Bay on November 17 at 6 p.m., at the community hall
- Iqaluit on November 26 at 6 p.m., at the Nakasuk school gym
In communities where public meetings are not held, teleconferences and questionnaires will be available. For more information about these, please visit your local hamlet office or health centre.
