Media Advisory: 4th Canadian Division

TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Jan. 29, 2015) – Media are invited to join soldiers from 4th Canadian Division on January 31, 2015, at Canadian Forces Base Borden, during training for an upcoming deployment to the High Arctic.

Exercise FRIGID FORESTER II will involve approximately 150 members of 4th Canadian Division, comprised mainly of the Arctic Response Company Group. They will be honing their skills in winter warfare, cold weather survival and the use of Arctic equipment, including Light Over Snow Vehicles (military snowmobiles). The exercise is in preparation for NOREX 15, which will see more than 150 soldiers deploy to Resolute Bay, Nunavut, in March 2015.

There are limited opportunities for interested reporters to embed with the troops during this training exercise.

When: January 31, 2015, 1 p.m.
Where: CFB Borden, Ontario
What: Canadian soldiers train in winter warfare and survival, preparing for deployment to the Arctic.
