KIA: Scholarships
Scholarships
Kivalliq Inuit Association has allocated $92,000 in scholarships annually; for Inuit students from the Kivalliq region pursuing a post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded in September of each year:
President’s Scholarship
$10,000.00 Fund
Students must be entering second year or higher of post-secondary education; and
Students must demonstrate an overall average of 70% or higher; and
At the discretion of the KIA President.
President’s Scholarship Guidelines and Application (available July 1 – August 31 annually)
Ukkusiksalik Scholarship
$12,000.00 Fund
Will be provided to Inuit who pursue education or training in the following fields:
Traditional ecological knowledge
Archaeology, anthropology, history, sociology and other social sciences;
Biology, geography, geology, and other natural sciences;
Renewable resource management; including wildlife management, geographic information systems, remote sensing, environmental technology;
Administration; including business management, financial management, accounting, bookkeeping, and human resource management.

Sakku Scholarship
$10,000.00 Fund
Preference given to students entering the fields of administration, business, financial and management studies.

Meliadine Scholarship
$30,000.00 Fund
Applicants enrolled in a mine-related field of study shall be given preference; and
Applicants must maintain an overall cumulative weighted average of 70% or above to receive the award.

$30,000.00 Fund
Applicants enrolled in a mine-related field of study shall be given preference; and
