Pride Month 2022
Pride Month celebrations are being held across North America from June1−June 30, celebrating the history and diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ or Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, and plus.
June is officially recognized as Pride Month in Canada, with many organizations, governments, and schools flying the Pride flag as a symbol of inclusion and support for diversity.
The Department of Education takes pride in providing a quality education system, one that is safe and inclusive for all, free from violence and discrimination. We encourage Nunavut schools to participate in, plan, or support community Pride initiatives. Pride celebrations help make our schools a safe and positive space for all members of the school community regardless of sexual orientation, gender-identity, or expression.
