Under the direction of the Director of Social & Cultural Development, the Senior Inuktut Policy Advisor will provide support, guidance and analysis as it relates to Language Policy and Legislation in Nunavut. The Incumbent will also work in close collaboration with NTI’s Education & Language Policy Analyst as well as staff from the 3 Nunavut Inuit Regions, the Nunavut Office of the Languages Commissioner, Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, Non-Governmental Organizations, Federal/Territorial Stakeholders and other partners to ensure goals and objectives are met.

This position requires an individual with a minimum of at least three (3) years experience in dealing with Language issues or experience in an equivalent field. You must also be able to develop and maintain strong working relationship with the Regional Inuit Associations. You must possess strong policy analysis, planning, and research skills and good knowledge of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement and NTI’s Mission, especially Article 32.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $91,188.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) with Northern and Housing allowance of $24,000.00 per annum.
