Position Summary
This is a great opportunity to continue to develop and enhance your health care leadership skills and experience. This is a temporary position until December 2020 with the possibility of extension.

The Regional Manager, Long-term Care (LTC) Services is responsible for organizing and coordinating education, clinical practice support and education delivery within Long-term Care Homes across Interior Health (IH). This integral member of the Seniors Specialized Care Transformation, Long-term Care Services uses research and leading practice in the development of approaches and plans which align with the IH and the Ministry of Health’s direction and engages clinical practice support staff in the development and delivery of initiatives. This position uses quantitative/qualitative data as the foundation for education planning, development, and program evaluation to ensure improved quality of Long-term Care delivery. The Regional Manager, LTC Services plays a key role in the standardization of quality practice and education delivery across all Long-term Care Homes within the Interior Health Authority.

• Manages the Practice Support Team within Long-term Care Services by providing leadership, guidance and support. Recruits, hires, implements performance management, and disciplines (up to and including termination) staff as required to meet portfolio and organization objectives.
• Identifies and assesses staff learning needs related to the integration of clinical practice standards, quality improvement methodology and evidence based systems with everyday work processes. Works in conjunction with Clinical Practice Support Team to develop, implement and evaluate education plans to address those needs.
• Assists and facilitates identified stakeholder groups in implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Provides coordinated monitoring of project implementations and outcomes, and engages in consistent reporting to the Director Long-term Care Services.
• Provides leadership to the Practice Support Team to develop, implement and evaluate information and education delivery prioritized in collaboration with Clinical Operations leadership.
• Works collaboratively within the team to complete an Educational Needs Assessment and develops a formal education plan for Long-term Care Services annually.
• In Collaboration with Clinical Operations leaders, contributes to the formulation, implementation and evaluation of Long-term Care Services education program goals & objectives; develops a plan of action to achieve these goals.
• In collaboration with Clinical Operations leaders develops and implements site level quality review processes across IH.
• Provides facilitation, coaching and support to Clinical Operations Directors and Managers in the development, monitoring and interpretation of key performance indicators for Long-term Care Homes and monitors plans for improvement opportunities.
• Works collaboratively with the team to provide clinical direction and plan development about the integration of accreditation principles and standards into Long-term Care Services.
• Liaises with IH Professional Practice Office, relevant professional governing bodies and learning institutions to maintain good working relationships. Reports issues of mutual concern to the Director, Long-term Care Services.
• Develops and monitors an annual budget including monitoring budget performance, planning, and adjusting deliverables to meet projections and annual targets; approving expenditures; and fiscal reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Master’s degree in a health related field.
• Educational or three to five years experiential preparation in development and delivery of adult education.
• Seven years of related experience, including three to five years of experience in a leadership capacity in Long-term Care.
• An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
