Iqaluit’s poor weather made news

Cold weather and blizzards in Iqaluit led last week’s news for Nunatsiaqonline.ca. Our storm coverage attracted the most attention on our Facebook page, while the most-read story on our website involved an Iqaluit woman struck and killed by a vehicle Jan. 6 during a storm.

The 28-year-old woman who had been struck by the vehicle died shortly afterwards at the Qikiqtani General Hospital.

The RCMP’s major crimes unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner of Nunavut continue to investigate the woman’s death, but police have not yet announced the laying of any charges.
