Swearing-in Ceremony for New Member of the Legislative Assembly for Tununiq
IQALUIT, Nunavut (October 11, 2019) – Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Simeon Mikkungwak today announced that the swearing-in ceremony for Mr. David Qamaniq, Member-Elect for Tununiq, will take place at 09:00am on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
The swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Chamber of the Legislative Assembly and will be open for the public to observe from the Visitors’ Gallery. Commissioner of Nunavut Nellie Kusugak, O. Nu., will preside over the swearing-in ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony will be televised on local community cable stations and direct-to-home satellite service on the Bell (channel 513) and Shaw (channel 289 – classic / channel 489 – new lineup) networks. The swearing-in ceremony will also be live-streamed at: http://video.isilive.ca/nunavut/.
The fall 2019 sitting of the 2nd Session of the 5th Legislative Assembly will convene at 1:30pm on Thursday, October 17, 2019.
