NTI will dole out $25,000 to 10 different initiatives this year

Nunavut’s Inuit birthright organization has launched a new fund to support cultural and healing programs in the territory.

On May 1, Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. opened the application period for its new Cultural and Healing Program, which will offer 10 applicants up to $25,000 each per year to help fund their initiatives.

The funding is focused on two main categories: projects that address the harms and intergenerational impacts of residential schools, as well as on-the-land programs that teach Inuit history, traditions and languages.
