The Yellowknife launch of the cross-Canada touring art and film installation pÎkiskwe-speak: An Invitation to Conversations in Reconciliation will be marked by a special event at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre.

The art and film installation explores the inter-generational wounding of Canada’s Indian Residential School system and the power of art and Indigenous pathways to heal the wounding. This project features the dramatic mixed-media triptych Lost My Talk, other artwork by Alberta-based Indigenous artist Lana Whiskeyjack and the award- winning documentary film Lana Gets Her Talk by Beth Wishart MacKenzie. The screening will be followed by a Conversation in Reconciliation with the artists.

Time: 6:30 P.M.

Location: Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre Auditorium

Admission: Free

Additional screenings will be held until November 10.
