IRC: IHAP Applications Accepted Until January 31
The application process for the Inuvialuit Harvesters Assistance Program (IHAP) opened on January 1. Those interested in applying will have until January 31 to submit a completed application.
*Please note that beneficiaries who live outside the ISR have until February 28 to apply.
The primary objective of the fund is to provide assistance to Inuvialuit individuals and groups to engage in traditional and emerging renewable resource activities.
Funding is available in two areas:
- Major pieces of harvesting equipment: Eligible for up to $5000 but can not exceed 75 per cent of the total cost.
- Minor pieces of harvesting equipment: Eligible for up to $1000 but can not exceed 75 per cent of the total cost.
Applicants need to be an enrolled beneficiary under the IFA (or for those between 16 and 18 years of age, eligible to be enrolled upon reaching 18 years of age). Preference will be given to Inuvialuit subsistence harvesters engaged in harvesting activities and showing demonstrated need for program support to continue or start harvesting, as well as to applicants that regularly involve youth in their traditional harvesting activities.
