Iqaluit’s 2018 community cleanup will take place Friday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Bags and gloves will be available in the parking lot of the Unikkaarvik Visitors’ Center between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on the day of the cleanup. Supplies can also be picked up from the Visitors’ Centre on the Wednesday or Thursday before the event.

All cleanup volunteers are invited to attend an appreciation barbecue in the Visitors’ Center parking lot at noon following the cleanup. If you wish to attend, please bring your own cup, as disposable ones will not be provided.

Cleanup volunteers will also have a chance to enter a draw to win a pair of First Air plane tickets.

The Department of Environment invites you to post pictures of your participation on Facebook, or by tweeting using the hashtag #CleanNU #CleanCanadaTogether.

For more information, please contact Jamessee Moulton at jmoulton@gov.nu.ca or 867-975-7745. Large groups should also contact Jamessee so that they can be assigned a specific area to clean.
