Community Consultations on Inuit Owned Lands, Hall Beach
The Qikiqtani Inuit Association’s Department of Lands and Resources is holding community consultations regarding Inuit Owned Lands (IOL). The purpose of the meetings is to consult with residents of Hall Beach about why the parcels of IOL were chosen, how the lands are currently being used, and how they should be used in the future.
QIA is requesting that at least six people participate, including members of the Community Lands and Resources Committee, Elders and land users with knowledge of the community’s Inuit Owned Land. The meeting will allow QIA staff to update information on IOL and make decisions on land use permits.
The meetings will be held at the Hamlet Chambers on Monday, December 4th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of another meeting on December 5th.
