Young Yukon hockey players, equestrians and artists are among those to benefit from nearly $61,000 awarded to 23 community groups through the Youth Investment Fund.

The Youth Investment Fund provides short-term funding for community-driven initiatives. These projects support positive lifestyle choices by creating social or recreational activities for Yukoners under 19 years old. Eligible organizations can apply for funding between $501 and $5000.

The Youth Investment Fund provides funding twice a year to qualifying community groups. The application deadline for the next round of funding is October 1, 2018.

Every child and teen deserves to experience and benefit from social or recreational activities, and I thank all of the organizations that spend countless hours keeping our youth engaged with their communities. These diverse programs allow youth to explore new interests and help to keep their minds active while building confidence and positive attitudes.
