HAY RIVER, N.W.T. _ One person has died in a house fire on a First Nation in the Northwest Territories.

RCMP got a call early Wednesday about a house on fire on the K’atl’odeeche First Nation Reserve near Hay River.

The house was fully engulfed in flames when police got there.

One woman was taken out of the house and taken to the health centre in Hay River.

Once the fire was out, fire officials went into the building and found one person dead.

No further details were available.
